PARTY AFFILIATION CHANGES:
** You may make changes to your party affiliation any time up to 90 days before any Primary from one major party to another major party after that date, you will not be eligible to vote in the primary but will be registered in that party for the regular election. Changing from Unaffiliated to a major party requires no wait to become a member of the party.
Absentee Ballots – Please contact the Groton Town Clerk for Absentee Ballots for all elections. Office location is 45 Fort Hill Road (across from Dairy Queen).
Same Day Registration (SDR)
Did you know??? You can register to vote on election day in a regular Election? You should take the time and register ahead of election day but if something occurs and election day is today; and you have not registered… YOU CAN STILL VOTE in a regular election! SDR is not open during Primaries, Referenda or Special Elections. Any person who qualifies as eligible to register to vote may register in a General Election and cast a ballot on Election Day at the EDR location which is Groton Community Center Building (Old Fitch Middle School), 61 Fort Hill Road, Groton from 6 am – 8 pm (must be in line at 8pm so come early just to be safe). The SDR Law does not apply to Special Elections, Referenda or Primaries. Please contact the Registrar’s, if you have additional questions (860) 441-6650.
