Groton Food Locker

Have you or your family ever been short of food due to illness, excess bills, or loss of job? The Groton Food Locker, located in the Human Services building, is available to any resident of the Town of Groton who is in need of food. There are no income guidelines and proof of residency is required. The Food Locker is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Please contact us at 860-441-6760 to schedule an appointment.

The Food Locker helps an estimated 1,600 people throughout the year in our own community and is stocked entirely through donations. A nutritionally balanced seven day supply of food is provided to individuals/families in need. A typical food locker includes the following:

  • Tuna
  • Canned Meats
*Extra items and special dietary needs are available upon request and availability.

Donations of non-perishable food items, personal hygiene, and monetary donations are always accepted during normal business hours. Checks should be payable to “Groton Food Locker.”

The Mystic Congregational Church sponsors the Groton Food Locker. The Groton Food Locker is a member of the Gemma E. Moran United Way/Labor Food Center and a participant of CTNAP (CT Nutrition Assistance Program.)
