Chili Cook-Off and Bakers Battle

Who makes the best chili? A healthy competition between surrounding Police, Fire and EMS departments searing flavors in this fierce chili cook-off event. The Chili Cook-Off takes place at Thrive55+ Active Living Center: Powered by Groton Senior Center and is open to all Groton, Connecticut residents.

Club 55 Artisan Fair and Bake sale

Saturday, October 21, 2023   9:00 am-1:00 pm
This community wide fall event is presented by Club 55 at Thrive 55+.   Craft  Fair and Bake Sale. Vendor tables are available  $10 for round/ Medium rectangle $15/ Large rectangle $20.  Club 55 members receive a $5 discount on table fee.  to book a table, please come to Thrive 55+  Monday through Friday 8:30 to 4:30 pm.

LUMINARIA WALK

Saturday, October 7, 2023. 
Please join us as we raise funds for Groton Parks Foundation by enjoying an evening walk on one of our main trails at Copp Family Park (Route 184, Groton) decorated magically with luminary and  woodland spirits. This is an easy and stroller friendly trail. 
Under 1 mile.              Adults $10      Children 8 and up $5     Children under 8 Free

Season of Celebrations (formerly Holiday Kickoff)

Saturday, December 2, 2023 
5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Thrive 55+ and Groton Public Library lot. Groton’s  Season of Celebration is an event that incorporates all holiday celebrations; Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Three Kings as well as other holiday traditions.  There will be displays of all the holiday celebrations, children’s activities, entertainment - bell choir, carolers, dancers, hayrides, special guests and food trucks.

In case of rain, we will move indoors to the Thrive 55+ Community Room.

  • Payment due at time of reservation.
  • Vendors provide their own tables, chairs, and tents.
  • Vendors may begin setting up NO EARLIER than 7:30 am.
  • Vendors are expected to remain until the end of the Flea Market at 1:00 pm.

Wear your best green gear and join us for the annual Mystic Irish 5k certified race to celebrate St. Patrick's Day weekend in Mystic. The certified course starts and ends in Downtown Mystic and travels along scenic River Road and the banks of the Mystic River.
