Groton DEI Collaborative Fall Session LGBTQ+ training
In collaboration with Triangle Community Center, the Groton DEI Collaborative is offering Fall session classes focused on LGBTQ+.
Available training dates and times:

- Thursday, October 7, 1pm - 2:30pm (LGBTQ 101)
- Friday, October 22, 9am - 10:30pm (LGBTQ 201)
- Monday, October 25, 1pm - 2:30pm (LGBTQ 201)
LGBTQ 101: An Introduction to Identities & Allyship - This training will engage participants in a thorough overview of
the LGBTQ community. From terminology and definitions to rethinking historical and traditional assumptions about gender and sexuality, this training is a must for all those who wish to be informed, and therefore effective, allies to the community.
LGBTQ 201: Allyship in Practice -
This interactive and discussion-based training will apply learning from
the LGBTQ 101 to real world examples. Now that trainees have a better
understanding of the LGBTQ community, we can brainstorm practical ways in which we can be affirming to LGBTQ folks on individual and community-wide levels. Trainees will leave this training with a “Toolkit” of best practices and ideas with which they can begin to build
