Welcome to the Town of Groton, Connecticut

Solar-bration: Observation Day

Observation Day!

Bring your chair, solar glasses (limited availability at the library) and view the eclipse on the library grounds. Groton is not in the path of TOTALITY, but will see an 85% partial eclipse. Thames Amateur Astronomical Society members will have one or two solar telescopes for public viewing. The Library will also have the NASA streaming event live in our large meeting room. No registration necessary.

Pick up free, certified ISO 12312-2 solar eclipse viewing glasses beginning on Friday, April 5 at 9am. The Library reserves the right to hold some glasses for the day of the eclipse event, Monday, April 8th. One pair per family. Limited availability, FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE.
Generously donated through funding from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, the Space Science Institute, through its Solar Eclipse Activities for Libraries (SEAL) program.
